Upcoming Program
Rotary Global Scholar and U.S. Army Capt. Sean M. Minton to be Guest Speaker

Monday, April 5th, the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs will be having US Army Capt. Sean Minton as its guest speaker.

Along with his service to our great nation, Sean is also a Rotary Global Scholar.

Sean is originally from Florida and enjoys sunshine and close proximity to the ocean. In October 2018, Georgia Rotary District 6900 in the United States selected him to represent their district as a 2019-2020 Rotary Global Grant Scholar at King’s College London in the United Kingdom. His course of study at King’s was International Peace and Security Master of Arts in the world-renowned War Studies Department.

Sean’s program fell under the Rotary focus area of “Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution.” By taking a program that intertwines international politics and international law, he hopes to apply his acquired knowledge and skills in the foreign policy domain. Sean strives to advocate for policies that lead to a better peace between nations and people.

In February 2020, Sean answered the call to establish a Rotaract club by his host club – the Rotary Club of London. The Rotaract club was officially chartered by Rotary International on 26 March 2020. However, due to COVID-19, the club’s charter was not signed by its parent club, Rotary Club of London, until 1 June 2020. The Rotaract Club of London’s inaugural meeting was chaired by Sean, as founding president, on Wednesday, 3 June 2020.

Please join us in welcoming Capt. Minton and give him a warm Rotary Welcome.
