Highlights from the Previous Program
No Need to be Scared of The Big Brad Wolf

On Monday April 8th Brad Wolf, managing partner of PeopleMax, visited the Sandy Springs Rotary for a Lunch & Learn. Mr. Wolf’s presentation started with a question; “What would happen the quarterback and the center traded places for an entire football game?” It doesn’t take much of an imagination to predict serious confusion and disorder followed by a dreadful loss. One would call it a gross mis-management of talent. This is an excellent analogy for what can happen in any company when people are placed in the wrong position. Brad went on to say that if we can recognize when people are playing “out-of-position”, we can start to understand and then maximize human potential. Brad explained that we may need to ignore the old standards for understanding personality types and dig deeper to understand the drivers of human behavior. He stressed that getting to an employee’s core nature is the best way to find where they are willing to pay the most attention, assert the most energy and show their truest grit. About grit, he recommended a book called “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance” by Angela Duckworth.

Brad went on to quote from Peter Drucker, an Austrian-born American management consultant, educator, and author. The quote: “To make strength productive is the unique purpose of organization. It can't, of course, overcome the weaknesses with which each of us in abundantly endowed. But it can make them irrelevant.”

Brad shared an abundance of wisdom with our club and made it easy to see that his services could be used in almost any company to improve its bottom line.

The Sandy Springs Rotary Club would like to say thank you and to Mr. Wolf for speaking to us and invite him to join us again any time.

Peace Fellowship Awarded to GRSP Princess Adobe

Each year, Rotary awards up to 100 fully funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of our peace centers.

On Tuesday April 9th, our very own GRSP student Princess Adobe was awarded the Rotary Foundation Peace Award at the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club.
On hand for the event was Jim Squire, District 6900 Governor Elect, and Roswell Rotary Club President Becky Stone as well as over 30 members of the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club.

The Peace Fellowship is earned through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the fellows into experienced and effective catalysts for peace. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and all internship and field-study expenses.

We are all very pleased with the work that Miss Adobe has done to prove her dedication to the Rotary Clubs, the Rotary Foundation and to her fellow citizens of the world.
